Modeling Interstate Illicit Drug Flow and the Potential Influence of Interdiction Efforts

This research endeavors to comprehensively understand and model the intricate dynamics of the potential flow of illicit drugs within the United States, particularly from the points of entry to demand locations through the extensive Interstate Highway system. Employing an innovative approach, this study utilizes interaction models (gravity models) and optimization techniques, the study seeks to provide actionable insights for policymakers and law enforcement agencies to disrupt drug trafficking networks and enhance interception efforts.
